Charter Boat question
« on: October 02, 2007, 10:16:07 AM »
Will or can charters target 2 species for a full day trip during November??  Specifically stripers for part of the trip and switch over to Black Fish?

Of course.

If the Captain isn't willing to, find one that will.

It's your money and charter.

Most will, but you will have to discuss it in advance.  That way the captain will know what he is in store for and can plan on the trip bait and rigging wise.

when you on a party boat, then not.. but when you charter, you can target whatever you like, including mixed species.
Fish out of Toms River NJ.
Call Nick for open boat, 973-417-5756, or on Channel 68.

Cool, i need to take out the in-laws who are coming from Korea to visit, 3 of them to be exact 2 sons and the pops.

They luv fishin but i was told there are no big fishes to be caught over there, just some shore fishing and no boat fishing to be heard of unless you are a commercial fisherman.  I wanna put them on some stripers and than some big black fish in November.

With that said, any recommendations on charter boats? so i can book it in advance...

Our very own Capt Bob might be able to hook you up.  I would check with him first.

Absolutely.

Best to discuss this with the captain at the time of your booking.

Where do you want to sail from?

FYI, in addition to stripers and blackfish most years there are still alot of big gator bluefish around to give you a tussle.

i am sure they will enjoy the fight of moster bluefish rather then stripers, plus there should be more action.. If your looking for table fair, then go with the bass

Ahh I had no idea blues were still in during november.  I can sail out of anywhere in jersey north of manasquan.

I m kind of greedy, I want to have both of the worlds, I wanna put them on good fightin fish but at same time have some fresh caught fish for the table because thats kind of hard to come by where they are from.  Black fish would be excellent.

I'd bug Joey to take us out but I think his boat wont be able to fit all 4 of us...

I have to tell ya, I borught some bluefish fillets in yesterday for a nice chinese woman at work.
Mind you, I DO NOT eat cooked fish (very rarely anyway and it is usually swordfish, halibut etc). otherwise, ALL my fish is eaten as sushi (that which can be eaten raw).

She cooked some and brought it in for me today.

Don't have exact recipe yet, but has Chinese fish sauce, fresh ginger, scallions, etc. IT WAS the BOMB.

One of the bes cooked fish meals I have ever had.
totally unbelievable.

raw blackfish is the best!  and believe it or not raw mackeral ( has to be eaten like few hours after being caught ) is finger ===== good, melts in your mouth like butter

yes! angelarosecharters.com .hello sometimes we will switch over to a different species, going from blues to fluke/ seabass. i dont see why we could switch from stripers to black fish, but it all deponds on codntions. blackfish are over offshore wrecks, and sometimes Capt. anthony may not want to run out if conditions are snotty. but if the fish are biting closer inshore he'lll make the run, ill switch up the rods with blackfish gear, and start getting bait. we always bring back-up bait incase on or another isnt biting. we are Angela Rose charters go to www.angelarosecharters.com
we'd be more than glad to take you nice folks out! t^ t^ t^

The Mad Gaffer advertises bass/blackfish trips.  Does full charters or open/reservations as well.

Know a few guys that love the boat and reports are usually quite good.

Personally, I wouldn't sail on them again, but that's just a personal choice from a trip I made with the captain.  As I said, others I know constantly go with that boat and do well.

I might be wrong but I don't think anyone by the name of Dan works on the Fins On Feathers. The mates I've had for most if not all of my trips the past several years are Jerry Cirello, Ford Coles (both licensed captains), Mark (don't know his last name but he also works at Meltzers) and Jerry's son Anthony.
