Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh of the Jersey Shore will host their 6th Annual Fluke Tournament on August 17th, with $10,000 in prizes including a $4,500 top prize and $2,000 for second. As a special incentive, a special rod and reel package will be offered to the active RFA member who catches the largest single fluke of the tournament - a handcrafted Lamiglas IC70H with top-selling Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 6500C3.
The Shillelagh has grown by leaps and bounds in recent years, with a huge tournament picnic held at the Shillelagh Club, 815 16th Avenue in Belmar, NJ on tournament day starting at 3 p.m. But first off is the Captain's meeting which is set for Friday, August 16th starting at 6:30 p.m. at the club. RFA staff will be manning a table - we'll have a list of current, active RFA members, so be sure to check in first to qualify for the RFA 'calcutta' prize for the largest member-caught fluke of the tournament.
