This weekend will be dry with slightly above average temperatures on Saturday and then temperatures dropping by Saturday Night and for Sunday. Clouds will decrease during the day on Saturday bringing sunny skies. High temperatures on Saturday will be in the low to upper 60’s with overnight lows into the 30’s and 40’s. Highs on Sunday will only get into upper 40’s to low 50’s with overnight lows in the 20’s and 30’s. Saturday will have a light west/northwest wind around 5-10 mph and Sunday will have a brisk northwest wind 15-25 mph. Water conditions will remain cautious all weekend with Small Craft Advisories likely. Winds will diminish Friday Night into Saturday, however seas on the ocean will likely remain elevated and then by Saturday Night winds will increase above 20 knots and building seas. These conditions will persist through next week. Surf and beach conditions will be good to ok. Saturday will bring less wind, but surf will remain on the higher and rougher side. Sunday winds will return and surf will stay on the higher and rougher side. Water temperatures are In the upper 50’s to low 60’s for all waters. The couple days of mild temperatures increased the water temperatures of the shallow and easily affected waters, but by the end of the weekend, these will drop again with the sub-freezing temperatures possible. UV Index will Moderate at 3/15.
A strong cold front that moved through the area on Friday will stall just offshore. A low pressure system will form along the front and track east of our area late Friday Night into Saturday. High pressure will then build toward the northeast on Sunday before shifting off the New England Coast Tuesday and Wednesday. A cold front will approach the area later Thursday.
Next week will start off dry and sunny with seasonable temperatures, with chances of rain moving in towards the end of the week. Water and surf conditions will take a few days for seas to recover, but winds will be settled by Tuesday. A front approaching on Thursday may bring some increased winds into next weekend.
Have a great weekend!
