Saturday Nov 10 on the Fisherman
« on: November 10, 2013, 07:51:14 AM »
Jake and I jumped on the Capt. Ron's Fisherman Saturday. Jake caught a couple of mussels, two sand eels and an umbrella rig when someone  thought it was a good idea to troll up the starboard side of the fisherman with 30 guys casting Ava47's. Jake had more action then I did. A few stripers were picked by other on the boat but it was slow all day. Seemed liked the trollers using the umbrellas with tube were hitting them.

Thanks for the report Phil. That is why it is called "fishing" and not "catching".   TT^ There was quite a fleet on Wednesday fishing for stripers, so I can imagine how many boats were out yesterday.

Why did you wait 2 months to post the report though?  It is dated Sept 10.   hhppy cfzd

Bummer... It was a wild scene with all of those boats trolling in random directions.  I had a guy pass about 20' off my stern. Yesterday the trollers beat the jiggers  ;D

Nice report Phil.  I was right near you trolling but I made sure we were far enough away so Jake could not snag one of our umbrella rigs.

Some boaters just have no common sense when it comes to the ethics of trolling in a crowded area. 5hrug
