Fish with the Commish and I-rish 11/14 & 11/15
« on: November 15, 2013, 05:20:41 PM »
OK, you gotta work with me a little on the title. ;D

I fished on the Irish Ayes on Thursday with Joe, Bob G, Johnny Oz, Bruce, and special guest star, Naked Eddie (who apparently doesn't fish naked when it's 30 degrees out).  Who knew?  :headscra: ;D  It was pretty cold, very windy, and choppy most of the day.

We found birds working right outside and south of the inlet.  We jigged up some blues and a couple of bass before moving north.  We had to move around a lot, never find a large concentration of fish in one spot.  Rather, it was move, find birds or marks, jig, catch a fish (or not) and move again.  "Never Give Up" Bruce was the only one to catch his limit today, while Bob G was the high hook on dogfish, landing three of those spiny cuties.  He also got bonus points for best release of a fishing rod into the water while casting. fcp

We ended the day back south of the inlet where we found more stripers at dusk.  t^

Today (Friday) I was invited to fish with our esteemed leader of our Fantasy Football League, Commissioner Paul AKA Hiking.  This morning was almost a carbon copy of yesterday, as there was action just south of the inlet.  We boxed a fat striper early and caught shorts and some bluefish before the schools broke up.

We chased them south for a while, finding mostly bluefish the rest of the morning.  We were back at the dock by 12:30 to clean our fish and wash the boat.  Hey Captain Joe, Paul still has running water at his dock.  He wanted me to tell you to pay your bill. ;D

It was a fun couple of days.  Thank you to Capt. Joe and Commissioner Paul for some good times on the water. t^

Paulie,

After a great start to the season, the Bluefins are on the schneid right now.  We lost 2 in a row and fell to 3rd place.  But we're looking to finish strong and make the playoffs. t^
