Stipers and Tog Sunday 11/17/13
« on: November 18, 2013, 01:50:59 PM »
Grabbed an available spot on a 6 pack charter out of Highlands on Sunday.
Was asked to be at the boat by 05:15 as the Captain wanted to be on the Striper grounds before light because the day before the boat traffic broke up the action quickly.
As soon as the sun came up so did the fish and the bird life unbelievable with fish rolling on top.
Jigged up a bunch of shorts, keepers, and blues in about one hour as the boat traffic built up fast.
With 7 keepers and a few blues in the box we headed off to the Tog grounds.
We were armed with greens, whites, and Asians. Asians produced best.
Very slow picky bite, but we pulled the anchors at 1:30 pm and headed in with 24 keepers up to 4 1/2 pounds and a couple of Black Seabass.
Back home just in time to catch the Giant game.

PS: I Won the "dollar fish" and had the pool fish in the box all day until the last 1/2 hour. Lost by one once.   :P
Note to self..don't let the mate bleed your biggest one until it's out of contention. ;D

Beauty of a day on the water for the middle of November and it was great to kill some crabs again.

Dollar fish is anything the crew agrees on. $1.00 for first fish, or first keeper.

As far a the pool, not a big deal. Gentleman's bet on a charter is just for fun ( as it should be )
We had a good laugh at the dock.
"1 ounce ?"
"Hey my fish was Bled"
"yea but the fin on mine was cut-off for ID"
No argument. Just some fun bantering.

Great job Paul-e. I am surprised that you were able to fish without Kenny at your side.    hhppy  cfzd

I see that the voodoo doll is working already as you lost the pool by being knowledgeable and bleeding your blackfish.  TT^

That NS boat sure has a great setup with the anchors and makes it quick and easy to anchor.

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

The problem is that I was only offered one spot by someone. rgmn

Otherwise Kenny and someone else I know who can only fish on weekends these days, would have been on board too.  t^

Doesn't a computer run that business when you sleep and fish pcrn ;D
