« on: January 22, 2014, 03:48:26 PM »
This year I would really like to live line Eels on the fronts of those jetties in Monmouth County.....Also looking to spend time in the back bay finding new spots that hold fish.

Any of you other Kayak guys want to add anything...please do.... would like to hear what your thinking.

This year i would like to try to fish out in front of the jetties, i spent a lot of time in the raritan bay fishing open water, looking to find big stripers out in the ocean side if possible. tried fishing piers from the kayak, not finding what i was looking for. Would like to go down south Jersey area Mays Landing area and do some striper fishing down there.

I think live lining Eels is a awesome idea, i have been reading a lot about artificial eels  :headscra:. but your idea sounds better. t^

Be safe and Have fun...

Cricker......You may want to think about  Oyster Creek for the early season Weakfish....The Creek does offer a nice area to launch the kayak with free parking....This area will get good in mid April and run into May......Use anything Pink...I must say its a beautiful area to fish with the kayak.

First I need to heel from rotator cuff surgery. I want to fish the Governor's cup tournament. I want to do more night fishing for weakfish in the sedges behind IBSP.  I miss the green flies and mosquitos. I hope my up coming agriculture and turf season will be good.

Surf Bird....Hope things are well health wise and your fishing season can start off fast......The winter and the deep freeze has the turf frozen and the turf dormant....I hope with the cold we don't have a chinch bug problem like last year, with our luck it will be snow mold that gets us.

Kayak1: Dave this spring you maybe grinding more seed into the ground. I had a lot of poa annua die off and some of my good grasses took a good beating from that deep freeze. Also the deer are chewing  it down to the nub. I spread a lot of pelletized lime this fall I hope the guys back at the plant take advantage of this frozen ground and get the rest of the golf courses done

I tried going with the Potassium 0-0-62 for better root growth over the winter, save the lime for the spring when the ground warms up.......

Not a valid vimeo URL  Not a valid vimeo URL    Here are a couple of videos about dock lights that dave likes to fish. I still have not tried it and I live not far from the bay. The deer are now my wives hobby. She feeds them and watches them at night ,just like the dock video above. They also eat the bushes and eat the grass . WE have about 9 Doe's coming in. We had 2 bucks but they disappeared.(6 and 8 pts) They are all corn fed .  One of our farm customers sells me corn. Not a valid vimeo URL another video

Awesome.....Just awesome video Surf Bird.

These videos that show bass feeding in the lights occur every night from April until December in our back bay waters of New Jersey.

There are hundreds of areas to find these lights.....If you can find a very dark area with just one small light on the water.....You have found a fishing spot for the year....

This is by far one of the most easy way to find Bass.....Still people will just drive past on there way home....Then post there are no fish around....  :headscra:

Okay kids what have we learned by looking at these videos?  Well for one thing I notices and Dave has mentioned this before, is that the bass will lurk at the light - shadow line.  I would cast a lure right along that line and, well, just hold on.

See you at the docks and bridges...

Happy Catching
