I'm curious to see if any changes will be made for the Pelagics.

And don't be surprised to see the summer flounder season start in March and end in May and the winter flounder season be from May to September/October.  nosmly

Damn, I hope I didn't give them any ideas.  :P

The recreational side just doesn't have the clout to change things.

If we fought as a group instead of amongst each other we would have plenty of clout. We just need to get organized, but that is almost impossible with everyone having their own agenda.

Fluke Sashimi is Fantastic! As well as Black Sea Bass. I always have some Wasabi & Ponzu on board. I know, the stuff is supposed to be frozen first to kill unwanted bacteria, but I eat it anyway.

I'm not sure what I find more disturbing:  the ever more restrictive fluke regulations or all you guys talking about taking it up the butt. :-X nosmly

They only thing about sea bass is that we are looking at a 7% reduction.  So you are going to have the same season as last year.

Thanks for the info Fran. My question to them is...Why do we need any reduction at all if the sea bass is fully recovered and at the highest level in history? It seem that no matter how much sacrifice we make we are always required to make more.  5hrug

That is the million dollar question.  That can be asked for both fluke and sea bass.

We all chalk it up to bad science.

After listen to the meeting and public comment was just ignored and the other states that were going to vote it down change there votes at the last minute.

This does not help all the states this just helps one state.  The sharing of the unused quote would have helped all the states.  Now the unused quota will never be used.  It just shows how the greed of one state and with the help of politics powers they can get what they want.   To threatened the board at the board meeting with a law suit if they did not get what they wanted.  NICE RIGHT

I was wrong in saying NY was not out to get NJ quota and it would never happen but it did happen. In MY OPINION they will say we overfished in 2014 no questions about it.

The fight will go

Also the fact that Capt. Adam was not able sit as the NJ rep and had to speak under the public comment is upsetting to me.  NJ governor never signed the papers to make sure he got his seat back when there was the change in Cape May.  The Governor was too busy with bridge gate.  clp  chrz
