Sunday went solo, hit the water around 11 am. Figure I would just stay close to the inlet and hope I get lucky.   Didn't get lucky  Got bored, was marking a lot of fish in about 24 feet of water, I tried jigging everything in the box, switched to bait started catching Sea Robins Lots of Sea Robins 2 at a time. This is where the boredom and Idea came together, I started saving the sea robins, thinking I'll throw the anchor out and start cutting these birds up for chum and try to draw something in So I chop about 8 sea robins into a bucket mix in some sea water then start spooning this mix over board, it's spreading nicely, and Here comes the birds Sea Gulls hittin the water diving,screeching this is where the idiot part comes in but it was kind of funny to me but I'm sure there were a lot of ticked off fisherman. It seemed like every fisherman in the north Atlantic that was chasing birds seen the birds and came zipping in on all the excitment Sorry guys but I didn't have my camera today to get a picture of the spectacle I made. Thinking to myself You Dumb A**

Great catch Skip, of fishermen that is.   

I did something similar several years ago.  I was at the Rocks, end of season, and was dumping old bait over.  I dumped a half full bucket of chum over, birds started working the chum, boat started heading for the boats.  Funniest thing you saw...my son was about 12 years old then an laffed til tears came out of his eyes.

Hey Rod you should do the old Candid Camera thing.  Tie up some chum in an old onion bag and tie it to a float with a message.

Hey don't feel so bad....when I used to have my boat we'd go out in the fall looking for working birds etc. we always carry a few large bags of popcorn and throw some of the popcorn out on the water to attract the birds...this in turn would attract the boats and we'd scamper away looking for the 'real' working birds & usually have the fish all to ourselves for a while until a small fleet gathered. Then we'd pick up and repeat. 

Believe me, nothing worse than having 1 yahoo run right through a patch of birds/fish--but you see over & over year after year

a few trip ago i encountered the same thing... 1 boat was chasing the blues that we were in and kept racing up on them and then killing the engine for 1 cast, then they broke up.. After a few minutes of this i decided to do circles with the boat in the middle of the school before I left... He screwed me, I returned the favor.

Reminds of the time rattling antlers when I was a kid bow hunting. I was banging away at those things when all of a sudden something comes charging at me. I was scared shitless to be honest with you. Well you guessed it out from the brush comes some guy in full camo with eyeballs that looked like two brand new softballs popping out of his head!My eyes probably looked like that too! Needless to say he wasn't too happy!!!!!

I like that I think I'll try that in the suds. When they get too close I'll run in circles hooping and hollering waving my arms up and down singing, Got To Choose by KISS. Ooh, got to choose who's your baby...
