A continuing and unsettled Winter pattern will bring precipitation this weekend and cautious to hazardous water conditions. Saturday will have a mix of sun and clouds with a lower chance of rain showers with a mix of rain and snow showers across the north/northwest. Any precipitation will be scattered and clearing out by Saturday Night. Saturday’s highs will be in the 50’s and 60’s with 40’s across the north. Overnight lows will be in the 20’s and 30’s. Sunday Day will be a mix of clouds with cloud building into the overnight and chances of snow with snow/mix/rain for southern areas. Highs on Sunday will be cooler than Saturday in the 30’s and 40’s with overnight lows in the 20’s and 30’s. Sunday Night could see a moderate to significant Winter Storm with accumulating snow into Monday and Tuesday. Timing on this system is questionable, as is track, intensity and amount of snow. Models have just come on board with this solution the last 24 hours. There are a lot of factors that go into a late season storm like this. Updates to come on this system…Water conditions will be Cautious to Hazardous to start the weekend with Small Craft Advisories likely through Saturday Afternoon. Conditions should subside until Sunday Night. Offshore waters look to be mostly cautious to hazardous this weekend. Sunday Night will see a return of winds and building seas with Small Craft Advisories and potentially Gale Warnings. Surf and beach conditions will be good to ok. Saturday could see Cautious Conditions to start, with gusty winds, rough surf and wave heights 2-4 feet. Saturday Afternoon will see improving conditions through Sunday with conditions worsening again on Sunday Night. Water temperatures are still in the mid to upper 30’s inshore with offshore waters in the mid 40’s. UV Index will be Moderate at 3-4/15.
A brief appearance of high pressure today and tonight before a weak cold front passes through early Saturday Morning. Another cold front will move into the area late Saturday Night into Sunday Morning setting the stage for a possible low pressure system passing by or through the region on Monday. High pressure then moves in for Tuesday while another low pressure moves in Wednesday into Thursday.
Next week looks wet with snow to start the week, clearing Tuesday Night and then rain chances returning for mid through the end of the week. Temperatures will be cold to start with 20’s and low 30’s, increasing by Wednesday to upper 30’s then into the 40’s by the end of the week, even some 50’s are likely. The main concern this week is the potential for a late season Winter Storm on Sunday through Tuesday. Water, surf and beach conditions will start off poor with Cautious to Hazardous conditions due to a low pressure system moving off to sea. Conditions look questionable through Wednesday before improving, hopefully, for Thursday and Friday.
Have a great weekend!
