Got out this morning in Long Branch.  Water was up high with the full moon.  Wind was out of the west, but no enough to knock down the surf.  Big breakers coming over the bars.  Started working plugs around 0530.  Quickly changed over to some black metals to attempt to be more productive.  Once the daylight broke the horizon the AVA's came out.  Hit a keeper around 29" about 0600.  Fish was quickly returned to fight another day.  That was all for me today.  Off to work at 0730.

Saturday November 7
Got out early and was greeted with a packed parking area in Mantoloking.  Forced to move south to Brick Beach.  Not as packed and was able to hit a nice cut in the bar.  Started with a dark needlefish.  Missed one but kept throwing it.  Hooked up with a fat schoolie not long after.  Few casts later and a wind knot took my needlefish for a ride to England.  Fishing got spotty for me after.  Others around were catching here and there.
Wednesday November 11
Got out early again today.  Had to make a quick pre-work trip.  Greeted by an empty beach and hard winds.  Didnt bring the heavy metal today and couldnt effectively fish with an a-27.  Decided to head north being i still had some time.  Eventually made my way to Long Branch around 0600.  Looked fishy to me and I couldnt resist.  Back in the waders and into the strong wash.  Was able to work the A-27 and it payed off.  Ended up with 3 fish, biggest going about 28-29, but heavy by 0715.  Two on A-27s one on my sandeel teaser.  Then off to work.

Hoping Friday holds out to be fishable and clean.

First report in a long time....
I have been hitting the beaches sporadically this fall.  Not because there are few reports coming in from there, but because of time restrictions.  Anyways, I have been hitting all of the usual spots, slowly the fall has started to make a turn for the good.  Slow start back in late September and early October.  I was mostly picking at Fluke and Hick Shad on bombers, needle fish and teasers.
Then on the 18th i was able to catch a schoolie bass around Monmouth county. If I had only decided to head south instead of home that day, I would have arrived in Seaside in time for that 3 or 4 hour blitz on bunker.
Then i was able to get out last night and hit a favorite spot in Monmouth County that is good at all tides.  The wind was a little stronger than I expected, but that was OK, I was alone on the beach.  Worked metal and needle fish with a teaser and produced 2 nice fat bass.  One was worth a measure, but either way they both went back to fight again.  I also caught a skate on a needle fish.  Hoping the beaches hold up with this blow and that the weekend is a good start to the run.

Nice to hear that you are back in the game. The fishing should pick up tremendously after this moon passes.  t^

Good attempt on a keeper Bobby.  Back in the game is good, especially from someone that likes to fish the hook and is willing to post their results.  Ocean County beaches have been sporadic to say the least but there are fish around for those that are willing to put the time in to catch.

Keep us posted up there it is hard to find good information dealing with the surf.  I know guys that fish that area but are reluctant to give out any information especially this year mostly because of the lack of fish.

Happy Catching

Paul
