Jersey Joe and I got a call to take a ride on our friends Mikes 26' Regulator after work today down Manasquan. Slightly north of the inlet we marked the mother load of Stripers.  Scattered Bunker Schools were around but were pretty calm.  We trolled a Stretch 30 and a Spoon.  A few minutes later the Stretch takes a hit and Jersey Joe reels it in. At boatside I realize the locking button on the net was missing. I go for the fish anyway and it barely fits in Mikes net. I lifted the net a bit and the round frame slides off the handle and is loose with the Striper.  I was to reach down enough and grab it and pull the 32lb "weighed with the spring scale" on to the boat.  Trolled more till dusk with no takers and called it a day.  Nice night out and the Regulator is a sweet boat. t^
