How to fish for Cod?
« on: July 13, 2014, 07:53:09 PM »
I have never went cod fishing and wondering how to go about it.

What kinda details can ya give me? I pretty much figured out its off wrecks. How deep is deep enough for them?

I have found a couple pieces of structure, but only around 80' of depth, I haven't been able to find, stumble across anything deeper. I have used my fishing chart in the past to try and find stuff but no luck finding anything.

No, I'm not looking for your super secrete cod numbers either, just the logistics of what I need to do will work. My parents want to start running midshore, and figure this may be a good way to get them out and see how they fair with out running even further for BFT's, only to have to turn around and haul back in.

 Thanks, Greg

Shark River reef is always a good starting point. Fish for ling and cbass and you can hook into a cod while doing so.  TT^

A further check with Joe T of Tuna Tales can give you a bit more detail.
