Roosters Flukin 7-30-14
« on: July 30, 2014, 07:16:14 PM »
On July 14 our boat the “Roosters” blew a head gasket while returning to our slip, went home got trailer and towed home for repair. Today my brother Tom and I towed the Roosters back down to Atlantic Highlands Marina for a test run and short fishing trip.
That 350 Chevy ran strong with no problems and out we went to the white cans near the Ammo Pier. First drop I picked up a 19” Fluke, after that it was drop and reel shorts for the next mile of drift. There were no more keepers. We used only Killies for bait and they worked out great. The bay was flat with almost no wind but the tide provided good drift. We will be back next week after the weather clears. Pete
