Another mixed weekend! Weather will be mixed this weekend with more clouds than sun and chances of rain and thunderstorms. Rain could be heavy at times with 1-3 inches of rain and more locally falling this weekend. Storms could be strong to severe with heavy rains, dangerous lightning and damaging winds. High temperatures will be in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s with 60’s and 70’s overnight. Humidity will be moderate to high. Water conditions will be mostly good. Winds will be mainly onshore out of the east and northeast. Winds will be gusty on Saturday with seas 3-5 feet with a 3-4 foot swell at 6 seconds. With an east/northeast component, conditions could be very near SCA criteria. Sunday water conditions look good, however a continued northeast wind, at or below 10 knots with seas back to 2-4 feet. Surf and beach conditions will be good to OK. Onshore flow both days could make the surf rougher. Winds on Saturday will be gusty with wave heights 1-3 feet on average with 2-4 feet mixed in with a 3-4 foot swell at 6 seconds. Sunday will have less wind, but surf looks to be the same or slightly better. Rip Current Risks will be Low to Moderate. Water temperatures are steady or cooler with most waters in the 70’s. UV Index will be Moderate to Very High.
Weak high pressure will remain across the region Thursday Night and into early Friday. Several weak disturbances and a coastal front will affect the area this weekend. High pressure will build across the area early next week. Another disturbance will move toward the area for the middle of next week.
Next week is dry through Wednesday when rain and thunderstorms chances return. Highs will be in the 70’s and 80’s with lows in the 60’s and 70’s. Water, surf and beach conditions will be mostly good for the week. Wednesday could see some gustier winds and higher seas over 4 feet.
There is an invest area in the Atlantic still being watched. The models are still developing this system and bringing it up the East Coast. It is way too early for track and intensity.
Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
