Got an invite to fish with "Fluke-U" Bob on his sweet Parker yesterday. Met up with Bob and his buddy Pete at the marina in Elizabeth, and we pulled out around 0700..made our 1st stop south of the VZ.. My 1st bite of the day produced a lovely 6-7# flattie on a 6' Gulp grub..
After a few more drifts in the bay that produced a pick shorts, Bob pointed the Fluke-U south to the SH reef.. fished the rest of the day in that area, eventually working our way down to the snake.. Acton was on the slower side, but steady... with shorts and the occasional keeper coming over the side..including another fat 5 lber..
Bob did a great job running the boat, and tying rigs.. lots of rigs...usually finishing one just in time for Pete to hand him a freshly broken piece of braid to tie to
Headed back around 6pm into a pretty stiff NW wind that the Fluke-U took in stride.. We ended the day with 6 nice Fluke in the box and 1 bonus C-biscuit.. Had a great time.. lots of laughs, and fine company..THANKS AGAIN BOB!!!! I'm looking forward to teaming up again next week for a run at the NJSWF tourny!
