NJBBA Annual Youth Surf Fishing Tournament

Don’t miss it. The next NJBBA 21st Annual Surf Youth Fishing Tournament will be held on September 6, 2014. NJBBA members do a great job of making children and their families have a fun day fishing the surf at Island Beach State Park. There is always lots of prizes, goodie bags, learning stations, and plenty of how to information about surf fishing. This is a great event for the family. Matthew and Jason will be attending, and we are looking forward to hangin' with our NJBBA friends Jettyhound Bud and his wife Trixie.

The tournament went really well yesterday.  There were 116 children registered. Everyone went home with a goodie bag, a door prize and a belly full of hot dogs.
The weather cooperated as far as rain, but was a little hot for September. 
A good number of fish were caught including fluke, bluefish, dogfish, searobins, skates and a stargazer. 
The kids and family had a great time.  And the members of the NJBBA had fun running the event. 
A big thank you to the tournament sponsors for contributing prizes, funds, bait and tackle.
