Whale of a time. 9-30-14
« on: September 30, 2014, 08:22:06 PM »
Got the invite to fish again with Capt.Joe on the Irish Ayes with Bob, Kevin and Jim.  About a mile from S.R.I we see a whale having fun smacking it's tail and pectoral fins. I believe it was in the BIG A$$ species. 15 miles out we. Set up a drift on some sticky stuff and start picking off Cod and a Bunch of Black Sea Bass we weighed at just under 4lbs and released. :P  We lost a bunch of rigs and lead but that's what it takes.  Jim pulled up a Bonita that was followed by a few more.  We spotted a big sunfish in the area on top milling around.  A bunch of head boats were out blue fishing the area. Around noon the east wind started kicking up good so we made a few drifts and head home.  A fun day as always on the Irish Ayes.  Thanks again Capt.Joe for the good time t^    Looks close at the first pic of the whale..
