finally had a weather window to make another run to the canyon.. After a Sunday afternoon fun fishing trip inshore load the boat and heading out at 1am.. The calm seas that were called for sucked ..first 40+ miles was a roller coaster but hit about 60miles and was calm sailing.. Finally made it to the canyon, to hear of a slow bite and horrible grass.. We tried chunking for a few hours nada , got on the troll at 7am nada.. Made a big move little north around 930am put the spread ove great bait.. Stayed to see the marks rise from 500 to 75ft .. Pow left long clip goes off shortly after right long goes off... Two heftly Longin on deck, reset and turn back .. Double again.. Reset turn and double again.. .. Decide that life was good so let's chunk, well that was the ticket for hours it was the best fishing I've seen. The guys literally were cover up and rods were bent up at 4 on at times..
after loadeing up on fish , I made a call to couple of boats to share the welf.. Was a great trip with bunch of good guys ..
we ended the trip with 21 longfins , and deliver a 100 qt cooler of loins to a local nursing home for fresh fish to some seniors..
