Scott G invited me to fish with him and his brother George and nephew Dan on a 6 hour fishing trip aboard a local party boat in Cape May. We joined a group of 15 men on the boat on a trip sponsored by a company in the oil industry. A group of Boy Scouts also were aboard along with some single fairs. The weather forcast was light rain with a strong south wind turning west later in the day. Breaking the easy inlet was very rough and a short ride later we were fishing for croakers, Seabass and trigger fish. We tried drifting and anchoring on different wrecks but fishing was slow. At least half the fares were sea sick and turning green, chumming over the rail and 1 or 2 locking themselves in the bathroom
.
By day's end, the four of us were high hook and had 7 or 8 croakers in the box. The only trigger fish was landed by a man on the stern fishing next to us. It was a tough day but it was nice to fish a different area then I normally would.
On a side note,a few Stripers are being caught in the Raritan bay on the troll and eels
