Not a bad weather weekend, but cautious to hazardous conditions across the boards for water conditions. The weekend looks dry, except for some very low chances of showers on Saturday mainly across the northern part of the state. It will be sunny with a mix of clouds. Highs will be in the 60’s and 70’s on Saturday with overnight lows in the 40’s and on Sunday temperatures will only be in the 50’s with 30’s overnight. Northern areas could possibly see the first freezing temperatures depending on how cloudy and how calm the winds become on Sunday Night. Other areas will definitely have chances of frost for Sunday Night. Saturday and Sunday will be windy as well and humidity will be low. Water conditions are poor for this weekend with Small Craft Advisories posted already for Saturday. Even rivers and bays will see 15-25 knot winds with gusts to 25-30 knots. Ocean seas will be 5-10 feet with a long period swell from Hurricane Gonzalo passing well to the east. Conditions will be cautious to hazardous. Surf and beach conditions will be ok to cautious. Gusty winds, rough surf, high seas and high rip current risks will make for some sporty conditions. Winds could gust to 30 knots and wave heights could reach 10+ feet on Saturday and slightly better at 4-8 feet or so on Sunday. Localized beach erosion is likely as well. Water temperatures have warmed by a few degrees, still in the mid 60’s to low 70’s. UV Index will be Moderate.

A cold front will cross the area early Saturday with high pressure building in over the rest of the weekend. High pressure will then move across the region on Monday. A frontal boundary will cross the area on Tuesday with another system developing along it as it moves to our east. The second system will be slow moving and will impact the area through at least Thursday before moving well to the north and east. High pressure will then start to build in for the end of the week.

Next week will start off dry on Monday Day with rain chances moving in for the rest of the week. Things could clear out for Friday. Temperatures will be in the 50’s and 60’s with 30’s and 40’s, some 50’s overnight. Water, surf and beach conditions look to improve on Monday and remain good for the week, at this point.

Hurricane Gonzalo is close to making landfall on Bermuda. It was a Category 4 in the Atlantic and has weakened to a Category 3 with 130 miles sustained winds. It has been battering Bermuda for most of the day.

Tropical Storm Ana in the Pacific will likely become a hurricane and will pass very close to the Hawaiian Islands again, bringing some impacts to the region.

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
