11/8 Sandy hook Striper Report
« on: November 08, 2014, 07:17:07 PM »
Ran the "Bullet" today out of Keyport...a 35' Sea Hunter center console for Down Deep Sportfishing. Headed out a little later than I wanted and steamed thru a nice 4 ft tight chop...tide against a 20 knot NW wind.
Got started on some jig fish....blues and some striped bass bit the wrong size so we made a run down the beach and got in on the trolling circus out there....nothing enough for me to stay so ran back north...trolled some more blues and got a call to run 9 miles away to a blitz..
Got there at the tail end but still plucked a striper here and there between all the demons. No big fish today but we boxed a few and a ton of big blues chewing all our gear up.
Saw Hunter Eddie out there and also back at the dock...good to see ya bro!
Long ass day....going to dreamland.....back at it in the a.m.!

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
