I figured we'd want room to move about if a certain spot was better.  Was out with the SeaHawk yesterday with about 20-22 fares and that worked out fairly well.

Can open it up to 25 or how many you'd like.  I'm easy.  Plus I might be pretending to be deckboy that day anyways. thud

It's a NJSWF trip so I'll let you guys decide.

16th is locked in.  We can leave at 6am if you want as well.  let me know and we'll figure out if we want to pay in full fares now or deposits.  Other charter I'm running, most just sent me the $50 and I'll pay the captain on the day of the trip.

I'm all for what the majority wants.

Oh, and check out my report from yesterday in the reports section.  Pretty good compared to a few other reports I saw ;D

Good report...The Captain seems like a very sincere person to do what he did.  He should do well with his venture.  I wish I could go but there is a family affair that weekend and we will be away.

Happy Catching

My two cents:
Put the limit at 25, all NJSWF members first.  If anyone has someone else they would like to go, after members have had their chance to sign up, any spots available should go to significant other, then to family or friend.

Collect full fare.  That would seem to be the easiest way.  Set a date that the fare payment is due.

I did read your report.  I'm betting we have a good day as long as the weather cooperates.   t^

Two things I forgot to mention.

Tip for mate.  Perhaps collect when collecting for pool?  That way people who are don't know (like me) the proper tip for the mate won't be put on the spot.   ;D

And, I would rather have a maybe 7am start to allow those further away a chance to get some sleep before the journey.   t^  (does six o'clock come twice in the same day?)    thud

Both are only suggestions.  Any other imput would be appreciated.   t^

More good suggestions from the Irishman.

My boy doesn't hit the PC much, but he will be singing up and introducing himself tonight.

He is also a VERY avid hunter as well, so will fit in nicely.

It's our charter and captain said we can leave when we want to.

So 25 good?  7am departure?

Tips for the mates?  I generally leave that up to the individual to pay directly to them at the end of the day.  Generally I start at $10 and add fish cleaning services on top of that.  More if they were attentive and worked hard REGARDLESS if I catch or not.  Majority of the time I drop them another $20 but that's me and I usually get excellent service.

If I win the pool, they get a good chunk of that too.  again, it's what I do and not what everyone else does or should do.

I worked deck a few times and know it's a tough job just getting the boat ready, cutting bait, working the anchors, rigging people up, breaking out of snags, netting fish, untangling rigs and then there's the work that goes on after the fares leave.

So, what's the final agreement?

Is it a members only trip or can we bring our significant others?

Thanks for putting this together!

Well, Theresa is on the trip with me and that's all I'll say about that >:D

She can't log on while at work and we have not got internet hookup at the new house yet.

If that's an issue let me know. :P

I'll break the news to Jess tonight.

Pray for me.

Seriously though, I'm thinking she won't miss being out on the deck of a boat in December too terribly much!

If there is an opening, I'd love to bring her with me as she's getting into the fishing thing, too, by virtue of spending time with me while I do it!  TT^

Personally, I think she should be in.

Others that are tog'n along are going to sign up so weren't members at the time...gonna just make drama and that's not what this site is about.

There will be time to sleep on the boat on the way out and in, just FYI.  Was another reason why an earlier departure was introduced.  Boat is far from fast and probably looking at a good 1.5hour ride atleast.  Figure time to BS, rig up, eat, or nap. grtn

My wife does not fish, but I have no problem with anyone bringing their significant other.

Gottog, being you are running the trip, I think Theresa should definately be in.
