Being from Point Pleasant and my father being a Commercial Bayman/Fisherman(clams crabs eels etc.) I started going that route but figured the Navy would be easier and it was. I have fished the Manasquan and the Canal for all of my 50 years. Today I caught the biggest fluke I have ever caught other than in the ocean. Me and my father were fluking in the Manasquan today all incoming and I caught a 25.5" 5.5lb fluke not a monster but the smile on my Dads face was awesome just like when I was a little kid. It always feels good when he is happier than me for what I have done. I owe all of my outdoor passions to what he has taught me. He was one hell of a hard worker to give us what he never had HE IS MY HERO. Today other than that fish we had 5 keepers in the river (great for the river) all on Gulp and killies. Once the tide started incoming the bite turned on shallow was tons of small fish and the deeper water had all the keepers. They were all caught gulp killie combo and on the top hook.
