Squan Flukin 7/19/15
« on: July 19, 2015, 05:31:30 PM »
Took the boat out solo for the first time today.  Launched out of Manasquan River Club and motored out the railroad bridge.  Made a number of drifts from the bridge to the inlet.
Managed about a dozen shorts to 17.5in.  Most fish took strips of mullet.  Only 3 fish on the bucktail / Gulp teaser combo.
I was a little apprehensive about launching / loading by myself, but it went off without a hitch.
The boat ran real good today.  I had made an adjustment to the idle and plug gap.  Made a big difference.
Gotta love the fuel costs of a small boat.  Ran 12+ miles today and used maybe 2 gallons.

Good report, maybe some bigger fish next time. MRC ramp is pretty good with the floating dock and all, I can launch solo there without a problem, low tide is still good, I just need an extra line. The only drawback is the hours, 8am when the office opens sucks. When Brian was running the marina, he arrived at dawn and would let you in to launch, but since Marine Max took over and let Brian go, its different.
I've spent most of my life fishing, the rest I've just wasted     <'((((><

Yeah that part does suck.  Along with the long No Wake ride down the river.  Deep Creek wasnt as nice of a ramp, but it's a 5min run to where I fish.

Fred -  The new racks are installed.  They're so low profile you can't even see them.   ;)

Awesome! Thank you very much.

Chris, If you after Crystal Point if you stay to the left, outside of the buoys and run. That isn't no wake.
