I fished a NS party boat out of AH on Friday. It was a beautiful day not to be WORKING.
Had a slow drift to start the morning and then a really nice drift for a few hours as you had an outgoing tide and NW winds. We mainly fished Chapel Hill and the Swash Channels. I wound up with 2 nice keepers and lost a really big fish halfway up as I should have loosened my drag after I felt the weight of the fish. BOOHOO I bucktailed all day. Bait fishermen using spearing caught a ton of 10 to 12 inch shorts. I was using sea robin strips and whole small squids most of the day. Pool fish was caught right next to me in the bow 10 minutes into the first drift and was about 9 pounds on the boat scale.
One of the best parts of the day was fishing sand all day and going home with as many Spro jigs as I started the day with.
Tight Lines,
