I followed up on the info that Phil (wreckfish) gave me on Tuesday after my St. Croix rod broke into 2 pieces while fishing on the Monger. Thanks Phil.
After checking the code on my rod against info on their site I found out my rod was actually 10 years old and no longer covered by their free full replacement. They have a Gold Service Plan which covers these type of problems. For a $50 fee which I gladly paid they will except the rod back and either fix it or send you a NEW replacement. My rod lists on their site for $160 so that is great. They also have a discount shipping program with Fed EX of $15 which covers anything up to 8 feet in length and is also insured. Rod went out yesterday afternoon.
I salute St Croix for standing behind the quality of their rods and working with fishermen to repair or replace it if there are any problems.
