GAMBLER --Weds Report
« on: December 09, 2015, 08:11:45 PM »
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After I posted yesterday's report, Capt. Mike did catch some blues and bass late-day.

I looked over the area where he last caught them but we only caught a couple.

We ran North a ways and saw just a few gannets hitting the water. Stopped and tried it and we caught a nice shot of slot fish that lasted about an hour.

Then, Chris on the Mimi gave a shout that he was spotting some bird action near the taug grounds, just a few miles away from us.

We ran to that and saw a large area of gannets and black backs hitting the water. We set up a drift in the midst of it and the action started right away. At first it was big blues but then had some good stripers in the mix. Most of the bass that we caught were over 28" but there were some slot sized too.

Turned out to be a great trip. With just 15 passengers, we had close to our limit of slot and keeper bass.

The guys that didn't want to keep blues, we netted and released.

Beautiful weather forcast right thru the weekend

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
