Shark River 11/25
« on: November 25, 2007, 07:52:35 PM »
Yesterday had some wave action and it was cold so most of the chicken chokers stayed home and the fishing was pretty good.  Today with the 1-2 ft forecast and a high in the 50's they were out big time.   I can not understand why you need 300 or more horsepower to rocket right into the middle of bird plays and breaking fish.  Most of the time they cut people off that are approaching the fish the right way and then they get a case of the butt and start doing the same thing which now means anyone with sense gives up and looks for something else.  Why do they think that by racing in and coming to a quick stop makes the fish bite better.  OK enough about the chokers!

Slower fishing today very close to the beach.  Seemed like a lot of bait and not too many fish. Total for the day was 13 bass (old slot size) and one mega blue.

The other excitement was there was a ball of fish skins (salmon I think) left on the boat ramp.  This attracted at least a 1000 gulls screaming and s**ting all over everything and everybody around the ramp.

Last trip of the season, brought the boat home today.

Nice report Dave.
Not all the idiots leave the water on Labor Day.  They will run into a school of fish and then wonder why the fish scatter.  Just can't figure them out.   5hrug
