Effective September 1, 2016, the SBBP regulations are as follows:

One fish 24" to less than 28"
September 1, 2016 - December 31, 2016

for 2 bucks you can keep 1 short  5hrug
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

friendly reminder from the fish 5-0, yo:

Thank you for participating in NJ's Striped Bass Bonus Program (SBBP). This e-mail
serves as a reminder of the two requirements to ensure eligibility for the 2017 season.

1) Bonus Harvest Report: If you harvest a striped bass bonus fish, it must be reported
either by:

-- Leaving a message at 609-748-2074
OR
-- Submitting online at http://www.njfishandwildlife.com/sbbp_harvest_reportform.htm

* Please note - Reporting harvest of a bonus fish on the Fishing Log does not satisfy the
above requirement. A harvest report should be submitted in addition to recording it on
the Fishing Log.

2) Submit Fishing Log: Complete daily Fishing Log and mail to the address below or submit
online at njfishandwildlife.com/bonusbas_log.htm when finished fishing for the season.
All logs must be submitted by January 15, 2017.

Nacote Creek Research Station
Striped Bass Bonus Program
PO Box 418
Port Republic, NJ  08241

* Please note - Fishing Logs should be submitted even if you did not fish in 2016 to
remain eligible for the 2017 SBBP.

Is the bonus program one good for (1) fish or is it (1) fish per day with those size limits?

one fish per year, need the special tag thru the gills/report your kill w/in 24hrs; much like deer hunting. Also gotta fill out a fishing log, pledge you first borne, 401K, etc.

I fish several times a week and catch enough keeper Stripers for the table  so I don't participate in the bonus tag program. But for an angler that does not get out much and would like some fillets for the table it's worth the few minutes of filling out the forms.
