Did a late afternoon trip 6/15 hoping to find a striper or two. Broke inlet and S winds honking had ocean churned up nicely with 4 footers and tight together. Tried trolling Asbury and a little north but nothing. Decided to fluke a bit to see what we could find and landed tons of short fish, not finding that pool fish I was looking for....took a ride a little further N after winds calmed down a bit but no luck again. Had reads but no bites. Headed back to fluke area and picked away at 17 inch fish rest of night. On ride back near Asbury tower, came across a pod of bait and fish on the finder like I have never seen before...tried landing one but no luck, jigged, bait fish and they passed it up, headed back before dark set in.....Maybe next time
