4/1 Couldn't keep the stripers and blackfish off the hook
« on: April 01, 2017, 05:15:23 PM »
APRIL FOOLS. Went down to cape may to check out a couple boats so of course the poles came along for the ride. Picked up my buddy and on the road just after 6. Got down there at 830. Checked out the boat which I might buy, then headed to a canal we saw on google maps. Casting into the wind didn't fare us too well, so we moved on. Mind you we had ZERO intel other than looking at google maps. Moved on up into north wildwood to a spot I know. Gave it a quick look then set out to find a bait shop. A couple we visited were still closed I'm guessing due to the season.  Got back on 147 heading north and found an awesome shop. Friendly people, well stocked, and decently priced. Went back to the spot and fished about 2 hours. My friend tried for tog and had some taps on green crabs but I had nothing on lures.  Hopped on the parkway and stopped in ocean city to check out the piers along the RT52 bridge. Had about 6 people fishing but no action to be found. Headed back around 2pm and just got home.  Try again next weekend or maybe tomorrow in the point pleasant canal for some tog

Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife sells all of my fishing tackle for what she thinks I paid for it!
