Striper question
« on: May 01, 2017, 03:33:46 AM »
My buddy and I were discussing patterns we have been seeing each spring. One question brought up is " does a striper stage in the Raritan Bay before they go up the river or do they stage there after they spawn? "
There always seems to be a short window of fish being there and then you must do some searching for them.
We would like to hear some opinions from the experts on this forum on this. Thanks!

am not an expert but found this video interesting.  I believe these early back bay fish are our local population that spawn in the Hackensack,Raritan and Hudson Rivers....get to fish this population before and after spawn(think they stage before waiting for right water temps),then mid-may thru June the bigger population from south comes thru. I am sure to be corrected but thats my 2 cents. chrz
