Bloodworm and Sandworm $$$$

last year i cleared some brush from the way back end of my yard. being a bit lazy, i convinced myself to make a compost pile. so i fenced off a small area, and threw all the clippings, dirt, whatever in that area. over the next few weeks, i also threw discarded vegetable clippings, etc in there. i went to it afterwards to turn it all over, and holy worms!!!!!! thousands of them!!!!! lets just say i'll never buy them again

where do these worms come from?,,,,,and i mean what state,

cause if theyre from another different state with the price of gas going up expect their price to go up too  bngh bngh

We use to dig them up in the mud at low tide along the banks of the Manesquan river.

Not sure where most come from now.  I will ask I have to go over to Betty& Nicks and Grumpys tomorrow.

most worms come from the maine area ,the cost is so high because of the diggers union  .they can only work during certian tides and they get the bigest and most around a moon tide

I don't know anything about the diggers union, but I do know that one of the problems is that the worms are becoming scarce due to overharvesting.

Also, during the summer the bait distributors find it harder and harder to get worms because many of the diggers quit to go pick blueberries where they can make more money.

I dig 2 dozen and I need a nap followed by a vacation.
