When Fluking What Are Your Preferred Color Choices
« on: March 26, 2008, 09:32:45 AM »
I like Chartresue and Fluorescent Yellow in clear OR dirty water.

I feel that these two colors out produce in ant conditions.

I find White, Red, Pink are not as productive in water that is a bit dirty.

I think that dirty water distorts the look of Red, White or Pink.

Chartreuse/Fluorescent Yellow seem to hold their appearance better in muddied water.

I'm not sure how the Fluke see this, I wish I did.

What do you folks think?

As the saying goes, "If it isn't chartreuse, it aint no use".

I'll start every fluke trip with some of type of chartreuse colored teaser/attractor. I like to have a litte red in it as well.

If that doesn't work (which seldom occurs). I'll go to either white or pink.

Early in the season I like using what I refer to as a sea robin pattern (white/brown/orange). This is deadly when there are allot of baby sea robins around.

Later in the year I like using a blue over white pattern to imitate a peanut bunker.

In the ocean I'll sometimes use a pink over white with some flash-a-boo in it to imitate a baby porgy or a almost all white with a little pink in to copy a small squid. Either can really turn the bite on.

I've also had success with an olive over white pattern to mimic spearing and a pumpkinseed pattern to mimic crabs or shrimp.

I like to start with white.  Then I will go to chartrues, yellow then red.  I also use the skunk (white and black).  One of the guys who fishes with me likes that the best.

Depending on conditions I start with Chartrues, white , white and red , yellow. alot of time just that plain hook produces better. with a nice drift I add a spinner blade or spin-n-glow. t^

Chartresue is defnately the most popular color.

50% of all of the teasers and rigs that I sell have some type of Chartreuse somewhere.

The other 50% is divided up amongst the other colors.

I would have to say White gets the second nod.
