the bearing usually fails before the hub.

usually just like a non-drive front car wheel bearing-- jack up, remove tire, dust cap, cotter pin, castle nut, off it comes.

grating/vibrating/notgoodbearing noises yes

sometimes the lug nuts are seized I spray w/WD40 and run them off/on each year just to help prevent this

sometimes after disassembly of the axle nut you need to put the tire back on to use it as leverage if the hub doesn't come off readily

Go to the link below to a diagram. If you are mechanically inclined the repairing a bad bearing will be no problem. TT^

Drive axles are usually more complicated than non drive but 1pc sounds weird. Maybe there's no way to get to the race to press it out from the hub, but I can't envision it being 1pc.

When you take the hub off and take out the bearings wipe the inside of the hub to get a good look at the race.  Check to see if it is scored if it is your bearings are definitely shot, and should be replaced if not it would be the bearings.

Being they are sending you the whole housing I would make sure that the bearings are packed. By this mean do they have grease within the bearing it self.  I would pick up bearing grease and repack them by hand.

Put a good amount of grease in the palm of your hand and work it into the bearings from the outside in by rolling the bearing and pushing it into the palm of your hand the grease in your hand will be forced into the bearings.  Yes it is messy but take your time and force it in all around and don't take this step lightly.

Grease the race and put everything back the way you took it off.

You should be good to go.
