Save Round Valley!
« on: April 05, 2008, 07:18:19 AM »
The governor’s proposed budget includes major cuts to the Department of Environmental Protection.

This week the department announced that Round Valley and other state parks would have to be closed as a result of the cuts.

We need to resolve our budget issues in other ways – not by closing our parks!

With such short notice it will be impossible to make this rally.  Please keep us posted.

Thanks

This park closing thing is terrible. The politicians with their big houses and private country clubs are preventing working people from going to parks to spend the day outdoors with their families. I just makes me sick that this can happen >:(

This is also a good foot in the door for stopping fishing and hunting. Now it's closing parks for BBQing and swimming. Next it's closing state ramps and WMAs to fishing and hunting.

Here we go everyone, form a line and get ready to bend over here comes the Corzine shaft.  I name him because he is at the top of the political pile. and I guess he gets firsts shot.

This is going to hurt.

When will enough be enough?

You can still launch your boat at the fish and wildlife ramp, they can't deny you access from there.  This cut/close of parks is just another scare tactic.  Its not going to happen, same thing happened last year.  Laid off some  workers for only 4 days and they still got paid for the time off.

...This cut/close of parks is just another scare tactic...

Can you elaborate on this?  What do you mean about this being "another scare tactic"?  Who is trying to scare who?  And for what purpose? ???

Thanks,
Bob

By trying to eliminate something close to you, it is supposed to better the chances of preserving it in the future.  Thus, works things out with budget another way and realize the importance of the parks.  But who knows with this guy  5hrug
