Sunday Raritan report 4-27...
« on: April 27, 2008, 03:27:38 PM »
I was invited to join a charter set up by a buddy on a boat from Sewaren.
Left the dock by 6AM but didnt locate a single bunker school in the river. Made the haul over to GK harbor and after drawing a few blanks hit the motherload on the 3 rd throw that loaded the livewell.
After that its a real simple report. Started off at the GK bug, moved around to the Reach, Round Shoal then down to the Triangle - Blues, blues, and more blues. Livies, chunks, heads, drifted and anchored over different areas. Demons thick as fleas and could not get away from them. Racers in the 8-10 lb range.
Wind layed down to 10-15 East, nice change after yesterdays blow. Comfortable fishing on the incoming tide
Wrapped it up by noon, 3 bass in the box going 30-33". Easily 100+ demons between 6 of us and thats a conservative estimate.
First trip since Feb for me so it was nice to shake the cobwebs off. Hope to get back at it next weekend if the oral surgeon doesnt cut me up too bad this week  ::)
Saw and spoke to MBoy out on the water who was with Capt Lou. They were into the demons thick as well, I'm sure his report will be up shortly.

Fish out of Toms River NJ.
Call Nick for open boat, 973-417-5756, or on Channel 68.

Good job. The blues will give you a good pull. Hard to get to the bass thru them though.

Good report Duff,

That is why I like to go for stripers at dusk or pre dawn off the surf.  It is their time to prowl.

Yeah, Sal was a pisser, never short on stories and jokes.
Frank was a real good guy. On top of everything, easy to talk to and throws a mean net.

I recognized you guys in GKH.  Since we've never met, I would have felt like a tool yelling out "Hey Catfish"   ::)

Nice ride you have there, that t-top with oval tubing looks nice.
