Fri Night April 25th report
« on: April 28, 2008, 09:32:05 AM »
I joined Orlando (Victor Medina's Cousin), Orlando Jr. & (Victor's) Uncle Robert. We left Keansburg at 9:30 pm.Orlando took us across the bay into Great Kills harbor.Orlando threw the net a few times & we had all the Bunker we needed. We took a ride west & looked around but we did not like what we saw on the FF.Orlando & I at the same time said let's go east.We set anchor in 12 ft of water & within minutes of the anchor getting tight we had Bass run off's.10 minutes later Uncle Robert hooks up with a 33" Keeper.Next up was Orlando & he landed a 29" Keeper.I turn to my left & now Orlando's son is hooked up with a Big Bluefish. For the next 4.5 hrs we bailed Bluefish losing tons of hooks. And at 3 am I hook up with a 31" keeper. At 4 am the wind picked up & we lost tide you could see lighting from a distance. We pulled anchor and took a ride west into Great Kills harbor. At 5 am my phone rings and Capt Frank Masseria says Art how did you do.I said we caught but we are in Great Kills harbor waiting for Michaels to open up so we could get coffee.Frank said Art is pouring under the outer bridge crossing we were east of Frank.Orlando says to us let's go back to Keansburg before it's start storming & I said we should sit in the harbor & wait out the storm. We get outside the harbor and it started pouring & it was blowing hard.I turned to Orlando & said I suggest we go back into Great Kills harbor & tie up to the dock and sit out the storm. We did just that but once the rain stopped the wind picked up more.Orlando,Robert,Orlando's son all put on Life Jackets and I said we have to leave now & head back to Keansburg before the bays get's worse. We left the Harbor at 6:45 am and headed west and once we saw the water tower off keansburg we all knew it would not take long to get back to the dock.We had several 4-5 footers hit us crossing the bay.At 7:15 am we were back at the marina cleaning up the Boat.

Orlando thx for a great night !

1 question will your son ever come fishing with us again  ???

Robert thx for the cold ones & please next time show me how to catch the big one   ;)

The wind can really turn the bay nasty. Nice report and good catch.  t^
