Wreck(ed)'em 4.30.08
« on: April 30, 2008, 08:14:37 PM »
Great day today!! Capt. Mike, Capt. John and I met up at the boat at 7AM and headed for the outside. The Bay (as Capt. Dave pointed out) has alot of sand that drifted, making old waypoints just about useles so with caution we made our way and reading as low as 2' of water under the boat in certain areas. The Inlet was a mess! Once we got there we were greeted with 5'-8' swells but once through that the Ocean was flat.

We got to the first wreck about 8 miles out and dropped Anchor right on the sweet spot. My first drop brought up 2 Sea bass and it was like fishing in a barrel until the Dogs came so we made an adjustment and were back on fish. We  had over 100 Sea Bass brought up and ended up with 23 keepers, as well 20 or so Blackfish but only one keeper but soooo many were so close being a half inch shy of the mark.

Capt. Mike brought up 2 bonus fish- a Pollack and a FLUKE!!! and Capt. John had a hell of a time bringing up a large Eel on one hook and a 13.5" Blackfish on the other, Both fish had him hung up in the wreck a bit but he managed to pull them out and bring them up. TT^

There is water at the bottom of the ocean- David Byrne
