They do catch the biggest fluke in the area but also the biggest skates.  30-lb leader or tie direct.  Use like a bucktail.

True, but so does everything else you put that close to the bottom.  I don't mind catching 5 hugh skates in hopes to get one 10 lbs Fluke.

Many ways to fish them.. Some just substitute their sinker for one and put it on the sninker-snap of a 3way rig.  Othere will take the hook off and snell a hook onto it to make the distance from the fluke mine a bit more.  Can right them like a bucktail as well.

Sometimes they work very well, gotta keep them moving or it's a skate-magnet.
