THE NEW FISH TALE, SEA TRIALS
« on: May 20, 2008, 07:42:33 PM »
FISH TALE is done and ready for action. The following pictures are from sea trials on May 1st. I was up at Jonesboro Custom Finish Shop in Maine that entire week finishing last minute details. Thursday May 1st was a great weather day so we got her loaded up and made the drive to Jones Port Maine which is a half hour away from the shop to put her in the water and runner her. FISH TALE did great. Everything checked out. YAHOOO We had a good size audience too. Up in Maine these boats are there life and a good number of the town's people turned out to see the maiden voyage. I'll guess there were about 30 or 40 people standing around up by the ramp parking  lot. FISH TALE even made the local print with front page pics to boot. We had 10 people on board for the festivities. After sea trials we laid her up at the dock and had lunch, it was just one of the coolest things I've ever been part of.

At the sea trials we had FISH TALE running with the tide and doing 30 knots. We swung her around into the tide and she made 27 knots. NOT BAD.

That is one fine looking machine. Good luck with her.
Nice story on the maiden voyage. Had to be a great feeling, with all the towns people looking on.  t^

THANKS GUYS!!

She is SWEEEET. The ride is so solid. Last week after that blow I took her out through the inlet. There was still a swell, she ran right through like it was nothing. It was very impressive. I don't have a trip this weekend but I might sneak out with a friend for opening day Fluke for a couple hours on the in coming. After that I'll be putting all my gear on board. First real trip is coming soon.

I have a bunch of other trips between now and the first Canyon run but that first run to the deep will be the first real one. I want to see TUNA blood on the decks real bad. Then she will be officially broken in.    t^
