Drum and Sea Bass!
« on: June 03, 2008, 09:22:28 PM »
Me and my buddy Mike went out last night on a friends charter boat (The Sandi Pearl) out of Leesburg NJ. We fished in about 40 foot of water in the Delaware Bay. In 3 hours we managed to put 3 drum fish in the boat to 75#. First time drum fishing and they fight like hell. We caught them on our striper rods with 20# braid. It took about 30 minutes to subdue these big fish. It was a great time. Left there 2:30am and drove to the AH and launched my boat at 5:30 am. Found some birds working off romer and only produced some blue fish. Next we headed down the coast to shrewsbury and drifted some live bunker with the fleet but never got a touch. We moved up to the reef and loaded up on sea bass near Capt Carlos from the Andreas Toy. Got back home to PA at 4:00 pm. It was a marathon fishing trip. If any one is interested in drum fishing give Capt. Bob a call from The Sandi Pearl 609 501 2675.
