Met Bob Cole, Andy, Johnny Oz and Lenny at the dock before 6 this morning. Loaded up the rods n reels and a ton of bait. Headed straight to Squid Head and began our drift.
I boated the first fish just minutes into the first drift. Ninteen inch fluke. In the box and on ice. We didn't get any more fish so moved onto the Rattlesnake. Made several drifts and Lenny and Oz both put twenty inch fluke into the box. We also managed two nice seabass from here.
The bite died so we moved to the Sandy Hook reef. Had several throwbacks, no keepers.
Made another move and Bob Cole put a 21 1/2 incher in the box.
Last move of the day was off of Asbury Park in 55 feet of water. There, Captain Joe landed two fluke just over twenty four inches in a five minute span.
Had a 45 minute ride to the weigh station and muddled our way there. One fish weighed in at six pounds on the mark. The second fish weighed 6.2 pounds, good enough for seventh place in Shark River port.
With the rush to get the fish weighed in I didn't even think of pictures. Sometimes I am just a ditz.
