Had the pleasure of fishing with my main man (who's birthday it happens to be today) on the Young Gull.

Hit AH for bait and 1 throw ed lived up to his rep.

We rolled in, saw guys looking for bunker, made 1 throw and were loaded to the hilt before the other guys even threw theirs.

Made our way down south and ran into a small school of boiling fish.
Saw a couple of HUGE tails. Couple fly rodders were nailin' the fish.

Birthday boy gets a runoff and lands a nice 28".

Moved around a bit and he throws another one in.
Not even a runoff for me yet.

Nothing doin after that and made our way further south.
Young Gull had 3 more massive runoffs on flat lined bunker heads (within 10mn span). 2 broke his 20lb mono and the third just dropped the head.

Big, hard charging runoffs.

Bite died out after that, did a bt of jigging around for fluke. BUnch of shorts.

Right after slack founf MASSIVE bunker schools.

TONS everywhere up on the beach and a little further out.

Decided to dump our aging stash of livies and get a new batch.

loaded up, worked them for a few and nothing doing.

back to Jigging.

Decided we had enough of the bunker splashing all around and droped in on a few of the schools).
Young Gull puts another in the box about 30" or so.

Stil no bass runoff for me today and not happy about.
Worked a couple of schools and I FINALLY get a good bass runoff (and finally on my Avet/Gusa setup which I bought it for).

After a circle or 2 around the boat, a nice 22lber for the table.

Worked the schools a bit more, but that was all ofr the day.

Total 4 bass, 1 bluefish, 1 small seabass and a dozen short fluke, some birds and skates.

More pics to follow as they are on birthday boy's camera.

Seems like there were only a few others caught we saw all day, so not a blitz by any means, but not too bad.
