Flyin Flatfish .... 7-10-08
« on: July 10, 2008, 09:52:19 PM »
Well the no net Thursday tradition continues.... a late night decision put me and and my bud the River Rat out on the water for another exciting NO NET THURSDAY....Makes it a little more exciting when ya swing everything NO MATTER WHAT....   :D

Little tuff this AM with a Good swell and a 1.9 knt drift and that was with a drift sock.... barely held bottom with 6 oz BT's and 15# braid ...

First fish i had on in minutes was swung in the boat and went 4#... RR followed with a 20 inch swinger.....thought it was gonna be on but NOPE... bite remained tuff through out the day... was finally able to get down to a 4oz BT but that was late afternoon, and the ship traffic didnt help either.... was then able to swing another fish that went just over 4... which was followed minutes latter by a 7.4 lb fish which i prayed didnt snap my blue stick...RR and I both drop a few and bounced a few off the gunnels including an easy
5# fish..... but it was fun.... ;D

I think we tallied 9 keeps and 6 sea bisquits..........

Yeh I heard squid strips work good for them.

Sounds like you managed to turn it into a great day, despite the conditions. Great catch, nice size fish and good report.
