On Vacation...
« on: August 12, 2008, 05:45:28 PM »
...In Wildwood Crest. I went out on the Porgy 4
from Cape May. Man, we have it so good up north.
Down here we had a one hour ride offshore to the fishing grounds, I felt like we were fishing off Virginia! Hardly any keepers brought up although the boat was full. I caught 8 with 1 keeper. There were a few sea bass and some tommy cod.

Nice catch for down in them waters. I hear the catch is pretty slow in the southern area.

Enjoy the rest of your vacation.  t^

I'm leaving for WW this weekend. I'll eschew the fluke to go after some other kinds of fish. Hopefully whiting are a little closer inshore. My mom loves 'em.

An hour?!?!

At least. I hear there's some weakies around, but none of the PB's are targeting them.If I
were to do it again, I'd go to Dad's boat rentals
in grassy sound and fluke there. They're smaller but I think there's more action. To get to Dad's, drive down Jersey ave (north) and turn right at the sign for Stone Harbor, you'll see the sign.
