Rhode Island Fluking
« on: September 05, 2008, 08:26:48 AM »
My brother lives in Newport, Rhode Island all summer. We fish for fluke and stripers. Catching 7 20" fluke is not a problem. They're having the best season ever. Plenty of fluke.  We throw back 20"ers so we don't go over the limit. No closed season either. Usuually we are the only boat fluking in the whole Newport area. Stripers are their real concern. Lots of hard cores have been going up there fluking all summer and I hear the same results.

Nice report and welcome to the site. I was in Mass fishing a few weeks ago. Did great with the fluke. Same there as what you said, 20 inchers are not considered all that big up your way.  TT^
