I'm going to step out of this one.  October is the last month be use the Luna Sea before she goes to sleep Nov. 1st so I would like to get out on her as much as possible during that month.  That doesn't mean I won't be surf fishing, just not enough to even think about entering in this tourny.  A weekend in November Tourny may work if thats a possibility.

If we don't get more entries by Friday, this will have to be cancelled.  :'(

A lot of surf guys here, not many interested in joining up.  5hrug

my thoughts.. maybe it should be for only 1 weekend instead of an entire month.  Some retireed people may get 20-30 fishing days, we others may only have 2-3 fishing days.  We will not all be on the same playing field, so to speak.

If you don't get enough, change it to a 1 weekend tourny in Nov.  or even a 1 weekend in Oct.  I will not use my boat for 1 weekend to join this.

Remember, for most boaters, this time of year is split between boaters that have to be out of the water by Nov. 1st and also hunters.

I see your point, but I still don't see why a month long tournament won't work.  The whole idea of an extended tournament is to get those anglers that aren't able to fish the one date that is picked for a tournament.  This gives everybody more opportunity to get in on it.

For example, LBI runs two of these kinds of tournaments every year.  They run one called "Simply Bassin'" in the spring which I helped to create about eight years ago.  And, of course, they have their famous LBI derby which runs for six weeks in the fall.  That one gets close to 1000 entries every year! cfzd

Many of the guys that sign up for it fish only one or two days out of the whole six weeks!  As in all fishing, all you have to do is be there at the right time, in the right place, with the right bait to catch the winner! ;D

just curious as to the specifics on the photo of the fish.  its total length, right?  need to use a dollar, or whatever to verify the ruler?  what about the photos?  how will you know that they are from the specified dates of the tournament?

You won't.  If someone is catching fish now and taking pictures to use in this..  then..  They are cheating.  This is why it's for members only and we would hope no one would sink to that level...  for a few bucks t^

just wondering, ya know.......you can never tell with some people.  now i have to find a way to make sure the camera doesnt get wet in the surf if i want to join.  i have a tendency of sometimes getting a lil wet.  i will know later in the week if i will be joining up.  if i do it will be for both species.  may also have a buddy that i usually fish with that may be interested.  i will tell him to sign up for the site, so you have a name for him.
