Keep the tips and ideas coming, thats what we are about.
Why just last week I upgraded from my Bamboo rod and string with a safety pin.
I do listen and always willing to learn after all these years.

I'm not the best fisherman guys...learning all the things i know about stripers over the years i had no help, i did alot of reading and trying new things... i am going to try to relay everything i have learned over the years to anyone who wants to know because i wish i had something like these forums years ago when i had alot of questions......and hopefully learn some things too  so no worries

I think I can speak for 100% of the people here now and tell you that we welcome any type of input you can contribute here.  I am not the best fisherman, heck if you look at my catch record, I am pretty darn bad !  EVERYONE has something they are good at or something they can contribute in a positive way or tactful manner to make this a great place.  I look forward to posting and then reading everyone elses post to learn something new...almost every day here.

People are so good here, they will give you the shirt off their back if it would help you catch fish, find a spot to fish or save some money one way or another...that's why I love it here!

I fish for and catch stripers all year long, and i never keep bass. I always catch and release especially resident bass, got to keep our sport going and every little bit counts. ...went out last Thursday and caught 2 30#ers a bunch of schoolies and some big blues. A little trick i use around this time of year for resident bass is live lining spot. The key is to find working birds and stay about 100 yards away from the feeding frenzy. The Bass are there but way outside or under the bluefish so i put between 5 and 12 little splitshots in the gill slot of the baitfish. the split shots weigh down his head so as soon as he hits the water he runs down and into the lower water column where the striper strike zone is right now. little trick my grandfather taught me years ago and its pretty effective

I've heard of the guys doing this off of Mass.But they more or less stuff the weight down the fish's gullet.They have a name for it even(Which I don't remember) because it's become a common practice.It's now illegal because the target fish are ingesting the lead.Lead will totally be ban in the years to come.Thanks for the split shot idea.

I quess you have to think of "the way back days" when some old timers would try to win the party boat pools by stuffing sinkers down the fish throat, until they were challenged to cut open the fish in front of the Captain.Oh Boy!! . Disgraced.
This technigue of dumping  down the throat of the BAIT to get IT down sounds interesting.
Will all the tournament winning trophies then be challenged and opened AUTOMATICALLY?
